I wanna become a beast--how accurate is Blue Book?

I’ve been studying up on the SAT for a while now. From this board I’ve gathered that URM status combined with high SAT is a huge booster, and I’ve religiously pursued this combination. I’ve wanted to work on my original PSAT projections (650V, 680M, 710W:2040).

I’ve taken the blue book practice tests (all timed), and I’m happy that my most recent scaled me 2080-2370. I’d be on cloud nine if I actually ended up with a 2220.

I ask your expert opinions.

1) Is this really accurate? How can I make it more accurate?

2) What can I do to eliminate the 1-4 erros I make that keep me from an 800, is it possible?

3) What should I do to get ready for the real test (I have 4 untaken practice tests left)

4) How high is the actual score in comparison to the range given? (where does it fall a lot of the time in the scale? I’ve been assuming the relative middle)

5) If I do end up with stellar scores, then how much will that and being black do for me (and about how good do my other stats have to be?)

Thanks for your input.

1) Yes, it is pretty accurate of the real test. You can make it more accurate by… I don’t know, practicing more?
2) Take a look at the problems you missed. Why did you get them wrong?
3) Why don’t you take the other four?
4) Don’t know about this one.
5) Stellar scores + URM = good combination, but does not guarantee anything at all. Look at the HYPS boards. You’ll see outstanding URMs rejected. It happens. But nevertheless, they had a good chance, didn’t they?

Hope this helped.

perfect, I appreciate the reccomendations.

About the whole URM+Great scores thing: I noticied you live in Arkansas, so that will also add to having an excellent chance at the top schools. Good luck with the SAT!

Yeah, my GPA is .1-.2 points below the average when calculated a certain way for the top schools, so I hope they can overlook it with a combination.
