um i dont know why you would want to be a hippy…spelled both hippie or hippy. But i guess you could use words like “far out”, “Groovy” and stuff…good luck.

There was a hippie in one of my classes last year - he didn’t wear shoes and was usually on drugs, or talking about them. You could also try starting a commune.

Yeah, have fierce liberal views, wear whatever clothing you want, buy a pair of birkenstocks, use words like “chill” “f’real” “mad” “peace” “far out”

the above is the definition of a modern hippie.

Don’t wear any clothes that look newer than 10 years old. If your clothes look too new, hit the thrift stores, quick.

Don’t wear socks.

Wear worn out leather sandals whenever possible. If your toenails are too clean, go at 'em a black Sharpie. Hippies can’t have clean toenails.

Wear a suit to seminar days to show respect to the big anti-gov-think- tank-guest-speakers.

Come back to your dorm exhausted after a hectic academic schedule and remember your lowly place in this world.

Buy some used birkenstocks. Wear them everywhere. Grow your hair out to at least 12". Khaki shorts and tye dye shirts. Smoke weed twice a day. Spew phiosophical nonsense. Buy uncertified organic food.

Buy a van and paint it tye-dye colors. Follow all of the above.
