I want to become more articulate

I don’t feel like I have a very large vocabulary or a good command of the English language. Does anyone know any good tools that can help me expand my vocabulary?

can anyone provide some useful tips?

Read, read, read.

Are there any books that can specifically help me to build my vocabulary and strengthen my writing skills? I do read, but i feel that I am not absorbing all of the information.

Honestly there isn’t a quick fix or a single book which will improve your command of the English language. I would say read some books that are well-known for their writing style. This means no twilight and more tale of two cities type of books. If you’re looking for a great read, try the alchemist! :)

Definitely agree with the above posts - READ! I think a mix of fictional and non-fiction is best, just to keep yourself interested in the activity! Everyone needs at least one fiction page-turner :D

I’m kind of in the same boat as you, slowly trying to build up my vocabulary and become more articulate. As others have said, reading is definitely going to be more beneficial than anything else! Read lots of classics and you’ll learn all kinds of new words. I also used this book a little bit to study for the SAT and it seems like something that may help you: [Ultimate Word Success: With Flash Cards; Build a Bigger and Better Vovabulary: Laurie Rozakis: 9780768928198: Amazon.com: Books](http://www.amazon.com/Ultimate-Word-Success-Bigger-Vovabulary/dp/0768928192)

Good luck! :)
