I want to do a medical clinic, but I am afraid that colleges will deem me as a stereotypical Asian.

I want to do well better in math and science, since they’re one of my lowest grades, but I’m afraid the more I am better at math and science, the more I am deem as a Asian kid.

I do not want to be play a sport, but I am pressured to, because if I don’t I am more unathletic.

I want to have more of a life, but I am afraid that if I do , my grades will drop, I won’t be different, etc. etc.

I want to survive high school, but I know I can’t.

Who cares what colleges think of you? Class of 2017??? Wow, a little too young.

Anyway, do what you want to do in life.

You’ll be better off as a stereotypical overachieving asian doing what he/she enjoys than someone with low grades and who doesn’t enjoy what he does every time.

Most colleges don’t care about ECs. They make admissions decisions overwhelmingly on grades, scores. Most students in this country – something like 80% – get into their first choice college because they aren’t like the bulk of CC members (who represent a very small percentage of college-bound students) who are trying to get into the most competitive colleges in the country.

One doesn’t need to go to a place like HPYS to have a happy, successful life.

Oh my god. Just join clubs you enjoy, pursue your interests, be yourself, and have a little fun. You’re only a freshman. Stop worrying and just let what you enjoy lead you.
