I want to give up, but can someone give me some advice?

<p>People say college is a great opportunity, but I really don’t see how it is. Actually, I do admit there’s a lot of fun stuff like meeting new people and studying abroad, but what’s the point if you don’t end up with a job afterward? The reason I don’t want to give up on college is because I want to get a job and move in with my boyfriend after college. Can someone give me advice on why I should not give up? </p>

<p>The reason I want to give up is because the subject I want to study (philosophy and maybe literature) doesn’t really have a job tied to it and nothing else really interests me. I don’t want to go to medical school (too many years) or law school.</p>

<p>My career goals always change. I have a problem sticking to something. If I’m not in college it means that I should be dead because I don’t know what else to do.</p>

<p>For example, dental hygienist. On that site it says that there is below average job opportunity in Illinois (where I live) and I looked it up and doesn’t really have any benefits like medical care or insurance. </p>

<p>Also, being a high school teacher, I worry about not getting a job and low pay.</p>

<p>Think about what subjects you liked in high school, what you like to read about, and that should give you some ideas. When you think negatively, no jobs, etc. then you are closing your mind. Maybe a community college to explore your options and not spend so much $.</p>
