I want to go to BU, can anyone give me advice on what I should be doing?

Age: 16
Year Graduating: 2012
Class: Junior
Location: Fredericksburg region, Virginia.
I am a full IB candidate. I am one of 23 students in my class planning on completing the full IB programme. I have taken the PSAT in 6th and 8th grade, I can’t find the scores now but I’ll try to find them later. I’m also taking the PSAT this year.
My current GPA, not including this year, is around 3.4-ish. I realize that I need to raise this.
I’ll probably be taking tutoring for the SAT.
Here are my classes and activities:

Freshman year:
Latin II, Chamber Orchestra, Honors World History I & II, Geometry, Honors Biology and Honors English 9.
I also did Latin Club this year.

Sophomore year:
Latin III, Honors English 10, Chamber Orchestra, Women’s Choir, Algebra II, Chemistry and Government.
No activities this year due to family issues.

Junior Year:
Chamber Orchestra, Drama I, IB English 11, IB Math Studies( maybe 2 years), IB Chemistry( 2 year), IB Psychology, IB History of the Americas(2 year) and IB Latin.

I plan on joining Improv/ Drama Club, Latin Club, MAYBE French/Psychology Club/Mu Alpha Theta(Math Club), FCCLA, Model UN, and maybe a few others. I also plan on doing volunteer work at a shelter this year, and maybe interning at the embassy.
Embassy: ([U.S</a>. Department of State Careers - Students](Internships/Fellowships - Careers))

I am unsure of all my Senior classes, but they will likely involve IB Anthropology, Theory of Knowledge, IB History of the Americas, IB Latin, IB English 12, IB Chem, IB Math Studies, and an elective.

The school is Mountain View if you are curious. I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me about my chance of getting in, and anything that I should be doing.

I can’t edit the message anymore, but I was going to add this: I am not a first generation student, my Grandfather and Father attended the University of Virginia, as well as my mother, who attended not only UVA but William and Mary and the Women’s University of Pusong, in Korea.

Can someone chance me or give advice please?

It looks like you’re on track to be a strong candidate for BU and many other schools! Just keep on working at school, get good SAT scores, and do things you are interested in - these will in turn make you an interesting person, which schools want!

FYI, my school got in for this year with a 3.2 UW, 3.65 W, 2080 SAT, but he didn’t get enough money to attend BU. BU is a great school, but there are many more out there. Don’t “fall in love” with just one school - visit many schools and find several you like, including a financial safety if money is a concern for your family.

Good luck!

I agree, I think you are doing the right things. Concentrate on preparing for the SATs - one thing you can do that is relatively painless is read- read anything and everything you can get your hands on. It will increase your vocabulary and help you read faster - all things that will help your SAT score.
