I want to go to Medical School, but I have a Bachelor of Architecture degree.
I did not take the necessary science courses or the MCAT. I have a 5-year B.Arch degree from an Ivy League, and have works that show exceptional “craftsmanship.” However I have recently had experiences that inspires me
to become a doctor. I am 24 years old.
Would you say this is too difficult a change in career?
A number of schools have post-BA pre-med programs for people exactly like you in which you take all the required pre-med courses in about a year. The one that I’m aware of is at Goucher College in Maryland. I think it’s very competitive to get into, but virtually all its graduates are accepted to med. school. At your age you’re certainly not too old. It sounds like one of these programs would be perfect for you.
Here is a list of school that offer post graduate studies for pre-med hopefuls.
