i want to go to ucsd/ucr but I need some help

(I am a sophomore) I am taking accelerated classes right now like bio, english, history, and geomotry. I can’t change it to ap because I didn’t take accelerated class last year… I am going to take 4 honors and 2 ap or 5 honors and 1 ap. so i am asking is AM I DOING GOOD ENOUGH THAT I WILL JOIN UCR/UCSD?? WHAT IS THE LOWEST/MINIMUM GPA THAT IS REQUIRED IN UCR/UCSD?? WHAT SHOULD I DO??? AM I IN THE RIGHT TRACK???

Are you instate?

OOS kids need a higher GPA.

Are you figuring out your UC-GPA?

Do realize that UCR has (perhaps shockingly) low expectations for its students. If you do well in your classes, you’re fine.

I am in instate and how low?

this admissions rate stuff is easy to just look up online…but in any case, yeah the ucr rate is definitely above 50% the last time i checked. ucsd is a on totally different level, considerably more competitive. and uc pays attention to sat scores too, so don’t get too sidetracked with just the gpa. but seriously, relax a bit… most especially if you’re a rising sophomore.

what do you mean 50% above ??

UCR’s admission rate was 62% whereas UCSD’s admission rate was 38% for this year. That shows how competitive it is to get into UCSD compared to UCR. However, both schools are on rising, so the admissions for both schools will most likely to get lower and lower every year.

do mind ucrs acceptance rate was higher than merceds just two years ago and has since absolutely plummeted. nothings easy in this day and age

so I have 62 percent of chance that I am going into ucr ???

no, that means about 18000 applicants out of 30000 applicants got accepted to UCR.

do you think i can get into ucr/ucsd??? plz tell me

Take some time to research…do you really think a bunch of people on CC can predict you getting in? You have no stats, no test, etc. You should go to your guidance counselor and make sure you are on the right track.

The UCs have formulas to determine if you’re even eligible. Take the time to read them.
