I want to major in aeronautical engineering? aerospace?

Helo I’m currently at a community college in Pennsylvania. This is my first semester I have a 3.0 midterm grades. My goal is to transfer to Oklahoma, Iowa state, UIUC, or ASU for aerospace engineering. Will I stand a good chance with only a 3.0. I am a GED student. I’m from Russia. Also, I plan on hiking 2100 miles on the appalachian next spring for a thru hike from maine to georgia. Will this make my application more interesting? Im also from Russia.

With that GPA, you are really going to be pushing it. There is basically no chance at UIUC without significantly better grades. I don’t know about the transfer requirements at Oklahoma, but I would think that would be more realistic for you. Arizona State is also notoriously easy to get into, but again I don’t know specifics.

It seems like you want to pursue a different career path every day.

Oklahome and Iowa State have a 85% acceptance rate. They are not hard schools to get into but they are ranked top 50. Can I still become an aerospace engineer though? I like IN PA and there is no internships or anything and im still at a commuunity college. I haven’t even took physics, calc, or chem ever yet. I mean aviation and everythig aviation is my passion. So if im going to do engineering its probably best i do a feild I have passion for and I also want to become an airline pilot later in life, but i want aerospace engineering as my backup.
