I want to study animation in Georgia?

I have been researching this…there aren’t many options for animation in Georgia. SCAD is always on the lists, but it is a private school and is so expensive. I need to go to a public school so that I can get the Hope scholarship. I love art and computers, and am currently taking IB 2D Art at high school. I love working with computers, and dream of working for Disney, Dreamworks, or Pixar. Anyone have any advice? I heard Georgia Tech has an animation program, but when I look it up, its not there?

I just used College Board’s college search thing. These are all public schools in GA with animation majors:
1.West Georgia Technical College
2.Chattahoochee Technical College-Marietta Campus
3.Wiregrass Georgia Technical College - Valdosta Campus
4.Moultrie Technical College
5.Southern Crescent Technical College - Griffin Campus
6.Central Georgia Technical College

Btw Georgia Tech (Georgia Institute of Technology) does not have an animation program.

“technical college” = community college, so, not what you want if you want to work for Pixar.

Your best bet for a cheap-ish school, if you can take the very specific environment, is BYU. If you’re not LDS, it’s a huge sacrifice though, because a large number of students are married, there are no parties, even coffee is forbidden…

Your best bet, if you want to stay in Georgia, is to get into GTech or UGA and get a computer-science related degree.

You should look at BS in Computational Media at GT:
