My long-term goal is to teach. So I was wondering, are there any opportunities for undergraduates to teach at Yale? I know that a friend of mine at Dartmouth is teaching chemistry (laboratory of general chemistry) there, so I was wondering if there are any similar opportunities at Yale as well.

There are probably many opportunities, both in terms of tutoring undergraduates as well as tutoring or giving classes to local residents. It’s likely there are also lab assistant jobs (like the ones you describe) where you can help teach laboratory methods.

Are you a Yalie by any chance?

No, but there are many around that can probably help you with more specifics. You can also try emailing the department head in the area you want to teach in, if you want to focus strictly on teaching coursework.

Thanks a lot for the information. Keep it coming.

d_a, same goal and passion here. There are a good few tutorial centers on campus, and I’m sure if there aren’t any already in-place opportunities to teach residents and schools in the area we can work something out once we get there :)
