I want to transfer to another university but have a 1.6 GPA

I would be a second-year student at my current university, South Carolina State University but I took a semester off because things weren’t working for me there and I didn’t want to waste more financial aid. I have a 2.92 High School GPA and a 19 ACT score I know that’s not the best but it got me in there the first time. I just esbt to go to an HBCU like Claflin but I can’t even go to a community college because I don’t even have a family car to get there these days and I’m pretty sure the longer I wait the classes are going to fill up. I just don’t know where to go right now I’m just feeling defeated.

Claflin requires that transfer students have a 2.0 average from their previous university.

You would need to go to school (typically a community college) that has open admissions and would accept you with less than a 2.0. Then after a couple of semesters, transfer to a school that requires a 2.0.

Are you near mass transportation? You need to figure out how you would get to community college. Perhaps you could commute with a family member or neighbor who works by the c.c.

I’m not sure if you’re aware of this but im pretty much on my own because where I live which is a small town we don’t have mass transportation and the nearest ones are 30+ miles away.

Is there a local Facebook page for your community or for the community college on which people advertise for carpool opportunities? Perhaps someone from your small town also goes to the C.C. and you could contribute some money for a regular ride.

Investigate accredited online schools so that transportation is not an issue.
