Nah, I just think it’s theft and wrong of you to take something that everyone else is paying for.

Which is also why I think that people who steal food from the all-you-can-eat facilities are terrible people, because they’re already getting so much food at such a slashed rate.

That’s true. I’ve always thought they were terrible people too. Of course, I count many of those terrible people among my friends. But what can I do?

There is an ironing board table thing in the trash room at least there was in Kins. Uhm I havent heard of anyone bringing an iron to orientation. Why would you need to iron anyway?

I love these threads because I hear so many questions I could never in my life have anticipated. Like ironing during orientation?

Now, I would expect someone to ask where you do your ironing during the school year, so that you don’t go off and buy an ironing board for your dorm. Personally, I never ironed a single piece of clothing the entire time I lived on campus, but still, it’s a legitimate question. But orientation? That just fills my room with lolcatz.

Luckily for M-5, I see no reason why Jester would not have its usual ironing accommodations available during the summer. There should be a board in the trash room and an iron available for check out at the Jester East front desk downstairs. If not, you can ask the person at the front desk where the ironing board is and where to get an iron (it is possible that they won’t have one). You could alternatively bring one of those suit-jacket carriers with pre-ironed clothes inside if it means that much to you.

I never ironed once during the year either. I have a bunch of non-iron dress shirts and those shirts that needed ironing I sprayed with Downey Wrinkle Releaser.

Will the classes that are marked closed eventually open up on or after August 12th if they don’t open on the next few orientation left over until July 17th…I’ve a heavy course workload on Mon Wed & Fri. so I wanted Astronomy 301 to be on Tuesday and Thursday with Pr. Widget…wonder if that class every opens up or gets dropped often?

What difference does it make if it was orientation or not in determining if it’s a legitimate question or not? I suppose I wasn’t informed that clothes don’t get wrinkled during orientation as they usually do in any other event.

Nxt, you are just gonna have to keep checking for that Astronomy 301 class with Professor Widget. It was also closed when I tried to register at the orienation few weeks ago but after couple of days i was able to get into that class because someone dropped it.

at the orientation, did you go to the financial aid thing? i missed that part and was wondering if i missed something important.

“What difference does it make if it was orientation or not in determining if it’s a legitimate question or not? I suppose I wasn’t informed that clothes don’t get wrinkled during orientation as they usually do in any other event.”

Because it’s just three days.

“wonder if that class every opens up or gets dropped often?”

Wow what are the odds that the one class you want is the only one closed out of 7. =[ All you can do is check every day.

seriously M5, if you’re gonna be like most of the orientees and go out to the parties on west campus, don’t even bother worrying about ironing, chances are that you’ll party hard then stumble back to jester and wake up in the clothes you wore to last nights party…trust me it happens alot

I actually don’t know any orientees going out to party on West Campus. Many of them do of course, but I’d say the majority don’t. I could be wrong.

The amount of days I’m staying it completely irrelevant to whether or not the clothes gets wrinkled guys; perhaps it’s the material the shirts are made out of. But I just don’t see why some of feel the need to deride me for asking a simple question. I don’t see where it loses its legitimacy.

It’s not as if my luggage and shirts will come to an agreement to not wrinkle, because I will only be staying for 3 1/2 days.

most may have been an understatement, but rest assured there were a lot of us that went, at least during my session… trust me I was one of them lol, and @M5 this is not intended to belittle your desire to iron during your orientation, what we’re saying is that the time you spend ironing could better be used to socialize with other orientees and make friends and all that. That’s all we’re saying, or at least I am, besides you’re either too tired to iron during the day or busy being with other people to do it at night.
