hi,
i got a 6 in IB math methods and a 26/40 in the placement test(calculus really sucked!!).
SAT 1 Math:730
Sat ii math 1c: 750
which calc course do u think i’d be placed in?
Any suggestion would be gtr8ly appreciated
btw…im in cit for ece

I am assuming you took HL math because you don’t get any credit for SL. I am pretty sure that your SAT scores do not figure into your placement, it will more or less completely from the placement test. The placement test is divided into sections based on what topics the class would be covered in. Based on how well you do on each section, you will be placed in a class. Don’t worry about it too much, it’s just 1 math class

hi…
thanx a ton
but does that mean im in 120

btw…is it just me or is cmu a bit stingy with regards to credits to ib students…i mean most places agree to give ib students credit with like a 5,6 or 7 or sumthin in math/physics for engring or like a 30+ score…but cmu needs a pure 7…tho in some ways it is good…

Yeah, CMU is stingy about IB credits. Won’t grant anything unless it’s HL, and even then has a high score requirement.

Yeah I got nothing for the whole diploma even while my overall score was a 38. With 6’s in nearly all subjects.

Math Methods is a SL course so even if you did get a perfect 7 you would still get no credit.

How didya do in HL Physics(Im assumin u took it) Messenger 29?

I took Physics SL and I got a 6. Did you take HL? Physics is definetly one of the harder subjects

make that hardest, after Math HL prob…yeah…i did take phy HL…but i think it helps big time later while doin engineerin
