I want to apply to their College of Letters & Science to study Biology or Biochemistry

I was predicted 38/42 and got 2050 on the SAT, so we’re not far off at all. I got in, so you definitely have a chance. Our ECs are sort of similar as well.

It’s worth it to apply, if that’s what you were wondering.

i got in.
790 math 760 reading 770 writing
770 us history sat II 790 math II, totally fudged physics…as i always do…makes majoring in engineering rather painful at moments: 660
6 sl spanish 5 hl english 6 hl history 5 sl physics (took senior year)
6 sl math 6 sl econ (took junior year)
3.88 +/- .01 haha gpa
one of my essays was really good i thought the other i don’t really remember so probably less compelling
out of state, female, engineering, mechanical

couldn’t afford it though :(

i was wondering what are my chances of getting in if i have taken all IB courses, i been involve in outside of school activities, community service, and have a high GPA but didn’t do as well on the SAT? How much does the SAt really matter?

Well yes the SAT matters, but how much it matters only depends on your other factors.

Also, it depends on what your definition of ‘well’ is. What SAT score range are we talking about here?

You’re one of the wobblers. I’d say Cal’s a small reach for you, but definitely do apply.
