My son has a 1320 (660/660) SAT, SAT Physics 700, Math2 results in friday, 4.1 W, and is a full IB candidate taking HL MATH, HL PHYSICS & HL COMPUTER SCIENCE. I only see discussion about AP. Any thoughts?

What is your son thinking about majoring in?
At CWRU, International Baccalaureate (IB) credit may be used to replace specific courses for purposes of general education/core curricula, major, or minor requirements. Credit and exemption will be given only for IB examinations taken prior to matriculation. Case Western Reserve University offers course credit for scores of 5, 6, and 7 for most Higher Level (HL) examinations.
IB course equivalencies are here:
https://case.edu/ugstudies/students/general-new-student-information/international-baccalaureate-ib-course-equivalencies
Keep in mind that the 25% to 75% SAT scores are:
SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 650 730
SAT Math 700 790
So your son would be around or below the 25% for SAT. I would encourage him to retake the SAT.
Is he planning to play a sport while at Case?
He wants to major in mechanical engineering. He may play a sport. We haven’t discussed it.
I know credit is offered based on outcome of subject tests. Irrelevant in this instances one must be accepted first.
I guess I just wondered if academic rigor played a factor in evaluating a candidate, or if it was hard and fast scores/gpa.
Your son’s rigor will be just fine. It’s his SAT score, below the 25th percentile, that may be an issue.
