IB vs AP

My current high school is an IB school. I’m still waiting for the master schedule to come out for next year, but I’m planning on taking:
IB chem-SL
IB biology-HL
IB US history-HL
IB english-HL

I’ve decided that I don’t want to go for the full diploma because there are many other classes that I want to take and I just wouldn’t have enough room in my schedule.

I’m just wondering if Pitt admissions looks at individual IB classes like AP classes?
Or if one looks more impressive than the other (AP/IB)?

There are other high schools around mine that offer AP classes, but I’ve heard really good things about the IB program and it seems like a really good fit for me. However, I’d be happy to switch schools if it means a better chance of getting into Pitt!

Hello!

Our website lists out the things you can do to make your application to Pitt competitive. IB courses are a good option!
