Which would I have a better chance for Early Decision? Cornell Dyson or Nyu Stern?

Which would get me farther down the road 10-20 years from now? Basically, which is more worth applying to?

I think they’re both in the 35% range for ED.
While Stern is in NY (home of IB), I would suggest you apply to Dyson. It will probably get you a better job.

@mrodriguez are you sure that the acceptance rates are that high for ED for both Dyson and Stern? It says on the Dyson AEM link on the Cornell website that the 2013 acceptance rate was only 8% for Dyson

@Catria do you also believe that Dyson would get me a better job in Ibanking with more pay down the road in the future?

Please, please, please do not call it “IBanking.”
I’ve been in the industry over 25 years and NOBODY who’s actually working in Investment Banking calls it that.

@Soze, given your experience, which students seem to get farther in terms of pay, positions, connections, etc… between those from dyson vs those from stern?

jlee2000:
Neither.
The ones really at the top of the game have the degree in French Literature from Princeton with a year at the Sourbone thrown in…
The point I’m making is that an undergrad bussiness degree is a way in, but it’s neither the only way or the best way.

@soze are you saying that most of the people who are really successful in this field come from hyps level types of schools rather than business oriented schools from slightly smaller name schools?

Or are you saying that a person’s undergraduate major isn’t really have a huge impact on this career path?

I really don’t know that much about NYU Stern admissions. But you filed requests for UCLA and Berkeley Haas.

UCLA: Match
Berkeley Haas: Match

What safeties you might have will not help you get foot in the door for investment banking unless you chose math, computer science or physics as a major.
