We will be in Iceland for 4 days from Dec. 30-Jan 2. The flights are booked. I thought it might make sense to book a 3 day small group tour given winter conditions.
Any recommendations for a small group tour company? Some companies offer a three day option including snorkeling, which is intriguing but also sounds like a crazy idea. Would love your feedback.
Would love to hear how it goes! We went in July but didn’t use a tour company so I am no help there. However, I highly recommend the VistingIceland forum on R*&&!t. Better recommendations than the guidebooks or usual travel websites I use.
We went snorkeling in Iceland with Arctic Adventures. They were fantastic!!! We also used them for white water rafting. Would highly recommend them and they have a wide variety of tours to choose from.
The snorkeling in Iceland was crazy cool and the dry suits really do keep you warm and dry. The water temp was 34 degrees but it was totally comfortable in the suits.
We snorkeled in the Silfra Fissure a few years back on our Iceland trip. While it was unique & interesting, there wasn’t too much to see IMO.
That being said, LOVED Iceland. We went in September. Weather didn’t cooperate for northern lights. Did a week with a tour, then a few days on our own. The tour was an adventure tour, so something new every day. Highlights were riding Icelandic ponies, hiking on a glacier (with all the gear) and an iceberg zodiac tour.
