I think the reason so many here are accepted is because most patrons of this board possess a drive and ambition in what they wish to accomplish in life. This does not mean that non-participants do not possess the same drive, but it appears that those who contribute on this board, at least, are the best students.

I do not know if I am making any sense; if you look at the SAT average for January 22nd so far, on college confidential, you will see that it is a 1460. That is absurdly high and it only demonstrates that this forum is occupied by high-caliber students, and thus, the average is skewed as the national average is between 1000-1100.

Moreover, if you look at the USNews 25%-75% SAT Score range for Rice, it shows a 1330-1510. However, I have yet to see more than one <1400 scorer get accepted into Rice on this forum.

So I just got home and nothing was in the mail from Rice. I’m pretty sure I didn’t get accepted. So this is one of the most devestating moments of my life. I couldn’t help, but hope. One thing I noticed though was no one from Cali heard yet. Right? So either everyone on CC that applied ID from Cali was rejected or deferred, or acceptances will arrive tomorrow. I’m so confused…

Do not get your hopes up; CANDYman’s mother (I think) works for Rice.

CANDYman, I suggest you provide full details of your acceptance in the future. Please do not take this negatively, but the 25%-75% Range SAT score is between a 1330 and a 1510, if am not mistaken. It is rare that someone below a 1300 is accepted, and I think it would beg certain circumstances to come into play.

That being said, Neleesh and Angel, do not worry so much. Remember, the range is between a 1330-1510, which is not bad at all.
