Idea for Poli Sci club

I came up with an idea for a club at my school and wanted to know what you think. I am a Poli Sci major and want to work in communications. My idea is to start a campaign team. I would gather about 20 students from my school and fill in all the positions of a campaign staff (i.e. campaign manager, communications, volunteers, ground people). We wouldn’t have to be experts in our assigned fields but we would just try our best. Not only that, we would make our campaign plan and actually run for something or promote an issue. We could prepare until we are ready to run and actually do it. If we lose we would be grateful that we were able to practice and we will try again and again until we win. I figure maybe we can even have a few guest lecturers maybe form the State Assembly(I interned there and make great connections). My chief of staff from Albany is for it. We’d have meetings and discuss issues, plans, strategies… my school will give us a room to do all of this hopefully. What do you think? I don’t know a ton about campaigns but this would surely be a good start. Also, I think media would like something like this, and that would be free press for us… What do you think? How can I make this idea better?

As far as I know, every college has a political science club. In addition, many have a club for College Republicans and a club for College Democrats. Have you joined any of the existing political clubs at your college?
