Ideal Female Height.

I third the shorter than me assessment.

wow, this thread I created out of a parody of the “ideal male height” thread is still active…amazing.

Well, yeah, I fourth the “shorter than me assessment,” and I’m not even completely closed off to a girl taller than I am (although at 5’11, it’s rare).

Height isn’t a big deal IMO for girls…

I am 6’2"
Any girl I consider for a serious relationship must be at least 5’10", I might accidentally knock over short girls

^ but they’d be at crotch-height for you…

Well I’m average height, actually on the taller side for an asian chick, and my 6’4 boyfriend doesn’t knock me down…unless I want him to :D

not really a huge deal for guys, but they make a bigger deal out of it…the ideal for both men and women is above average/on the tall side, but men seem to think that their height is a major factor, whereas women don’t (but we obsess over other things).

I have long legs and I’m still growing… albeit slowly. I’m 5’ 4’‘-5’ 5’'. I prefer guys taller than me by more than a few inches. :D

That’s your opinion…not according to a couple articles I read and the many other females I talked to…(I had to do a research about height too last year in class).

I’ll agree with you, as I also hold the opinion that once you’re at average height (5’9~6’0), it’s not a big deal.

But that’s not the same for many others. It’s a bigger deal than you think it is for others, although I’m in agreement with you.

^ what I’m saying is, it might be a “big deal” for both short men and women, but men seem to make a bigger deal out of it, like, “oh she wouldn’t date me because I’m short”. many short women get turned down by guys for being small, yet they don’t seem to be of the mentality that “oh, he wouldn’t go out with me since he’s too tall.” I mean some of them do, but not many (not me for example). I have a shorter cousin who’s been told multiple times that she’s too short for a guy, but what I’m saying is women overall don’t seem to have that mentality. just something i’ve noticed.

exactly. 5’4’s been already cool.

Seriously, I still don’t get why guys like the short chicks. I guess opposites attract? I’m 5’8(female) and my ideal height would be anything from 5’8"-6’3". I don’t think I’d be attracted to anyone shorter than me.

I have a thing for short girls, I guess. I am 6’2" and I have never dated a girl taller than 5’5", and the last two I dated were 5’2" and 5’3" respectively. You would think it would be weird that I am much taller, but it worked out quite well.

5’3 to 5’5 mainly because I am only 5’7 myself -.-

ummmm same reason you like tall men. short is feminine and tall is masculine.

that said, I’m beginning to like tall chicks. I used to like short, petite chicks. I’m starting to like taller (5’6" to 5’7") chicks with bigger asses/legs. Has to have small waist/arms/shoulders, though.

I’m about 5’6-5’7 (female).

Seems like I’m a good height to be :)

LOL wow this is still going on, this was supposed to be parody of the “ideal male height” thread but oh well…

anyways, to reiterate, I don’t really care about height, but I generally prefer them shorter than myself (which about 80% of the time, they’re shorter than 5’11, my height, so it’s fine…).

I think this thread proves men prefer taller women, I mean women who are above average height, as long as the girl is not taller than they are. Even short guys seem to prefer average height women. Occasionally I see a couple where the girl is a bit taller, but not often.
Society expects men to be taller, so that’s why women are attracted to taller men. It’s seen as more masculine. The ideal woman is also tall, but not taller than the guy because it looks awkward or whatever.

For some reason, in the high fashion modeling industry, the women are expected to be very tall, but the guys can be just average. 5’10 is typical in high fashion for both genders (according to ANTM, I’m not a model lol). guess it’s cause the modeling industry sort of has an andogynous look where both sexes look the same?

actually female models are tall because they look thinner. they market to women. male models are like 6’1" usually.

and this poll doesn’t prove anything. It’s a poll taken by a group of nerds. The average female height is consistently shown to be around average. I don’t know if that’s because it looks the best or if it’s due to men’s own insecurities.

i used to love short chicks when I used to be shy. I used to like “cute” chicks. Now I just don’t need a short chick around to feel manly. I go for hot chicks… the one’s with a lot of sex appeal. But seriously, height makes almost zero difference. I only answered because the question asked for one; but in real life I don’t actually think about it.

I think that while the ideal for men and women is tall, the modeling standard isn’t what most people prefer. Models (male and female) are often pretty scrawny, the women are size 0’s and the men aren’t usually buff, they’re scrawny “artsy” looking types. The ideal is more like commercial modeling, like the Victoria’s Secret models who are very tall but also curvy with boobs. I think most men would prefer those models to the flatchested high fashion size 0’s. The ideal isn’t 5’9 and 115 lb, it’s more like 5’7 and 135 lb. I don’t want to go into a rant about eating disorders or something here, but I can’t understand why the fashion industry insists on pushing such a disgusting ideal on us. High fashion models have died from starving themselves.

Ideal height for me is 1-2 inches shorter than I.
