It’s for the typical “senior ad” that parents get to put in the yearbook. I need a good quote. What did you all use? Okay…go!!
Thanks!!

Oh dear. I first thought of Oscar Wilde and then Ben Franklin. Probably not what you’re looking for. Maybe a quote by Einstein.
You’re living in your own private Idaho. - B-52s
Knowledge, in truth, is the great sun in the firmament. Life and power are scattered with all its beams. - Daniel Webster
Goskid 1: You were meant to be here. This is your time, now go out there and take it!
- Herb Brooks
Goskid 2: Life is too important to be taken seriously. - Oscar Wilde
Both quotes reflected each kid perfectly…
I used this for my S:
“Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined .” (Thoreau)
If you google inspirational quotes there are tons of good ones out there.
I need to write " You were right, and I was wrong " One week after my son started Freshman year , his name came up on the waiting list for a local Magnet program that he had desperately wanted to be admitted to. He was very disappointed when he was waitlisted . He told me
If his name came up after he started at our local HS, he would not transfer. I tried desperately to get him to change his mind, but he wouldn’t and I was vetoed by my husband and he .He not only did well but has excelled at his HS and is highly ranked and involved. I watched a shy, awkward teenager mature into a confident , funny, and connected person. I couldn’t be prouder, and as much as I hate to admit it ,he knew better than I did about what he needed to grow.
For D1, I used:
“Somewhere over the rainbow skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true”
For D2, I used:
“May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4
If you are looking for original, stay away from Dr. Suess’ “Oh the Places You’ll Go” as it was very popular in both of my daughters’ senior yearbooks.
We wrote our own…
Is this a thing?
In D’s HS the kids supplied their own quote. D used a lyric from a song she liked.
This I am familiar with, not a quote from the parents.
How wonderful to see you at the end of an amazing achievement and the beginning of a wonderful future
You bring so much pride and joy with all you do / Congratulations to an extraordinary son/daughter
Do not go where the path may lead; go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.
You’re a very special person and will leave your mark on the world.

I absolutely love that, @raclut. If I were to submit something like that in a book or forum that other people would read, my daughter would wonder if a pod from under my bed had hatched.
I’ll borrow it for the secret card that I stash into their luggage as they leave, knowing they’ll find it when they get to college. (It took my son two months to find his. Guess he was re-wearing t’s and jeans.)
Our kid’s HS (small) gave each senior a half page ad of their own, and parents could purchase their own ad (1/4 to full page).
@Waiting2exhale
Which one did you like? I liked post 15. I like inspirational quotes. My dream was to design and write cards for Hallmark when I was little. My favorite store at the mall would be a card store. I love reading different cards with meaningful messages. I keep a journal in which I note inspirational and motivational quotes for my daughter. I like to save all the cards that I receive.

Oh, My God. I think we spent time in the same dream. Nice to meet you.
