Ideas for a tattoo

I’ve always wanted to get a tattoo, but I’ve only just come up with the perfect idea. I want a skull and bones but “engineerified”. I want to use the same concept as this tattoo [My tattoo (with a twist) Inspiration: Anthony Bourdain - tribe.net](http://anthonybourdainfans.tribe.net/photos/8890bcd4-be8e-49f5-9b6b-c111cc0b66e7) but with in an engineering version. However, I don’t know what to use in place of the bones or for the hat. What engineering tools do you think would go well in those places?

I would do a sharpened pencil and a slide rule for the bones. Old school, but still cool.

Hard hat for the hat possibly?

A T-square maybe?

Slap some glasses on, yes?

How bout a little light bulb above his head like hes coming up with an Idea? then for the bones do something like a pencil and telescope?

what about a compass (tool for drawing circles)

Metric rulers? You could put an old fashioned train engineer hat on the skull.

What kind of engineering are you interested in? If you are thinking electrical or chemical or nuclear we might come up with something else.

I’d go with a hard hat, and for the crossbones, threaded bolts with nuts on the end.

But I think that the question that really begs to be asked is: have you already gone through an undergraduate engineering program, or are you about to go through an undergraduate engineering program? Because this would suck if you fell on your face and ended up being a sociology major. I’d say sit on the design for at least a year, and then if you still want it, go for it. You might also decide that engineer-themed ink is a little too… um… nerdful for your future tail-chasing endeavors…

Alternately, you could watch the sleep deprivation episode of Clone High before you commit to this.
