Ideas for an anti-Valentines Day care package?

D is single this Valentines Day and is not at all enthused about celebrating, so hearts and flowers would not be appreciated. I am thinking that a neutral, generic care package is the way to go, but maybe there are some specific things that D would appreciate that I am not thinking of. Suggestions?

I sent a care package to my son yesterday without any mention Valentine’s Day. Just a box of his favorite snacks and some money. I made it a point to avoid the treats that are packaged for Valentine’s Day. I thought it best to send it a little early. I’m sure she will appreciate whatever you send.

Bath stuff? Maybe with a fluffy new towel, I bet she is getting tired of the ones she brought in the fall. Cookies? A funny book about how men are creeps?

I’m not a big fan of valentines day… the whole concept of going out of your way to be nice to someone one day a year… how about just be nice 365 days a year… if you want to send her something just send her something like you normally would (if you normally send things)

In our area, girl scout cookies are currently available. For my kids, they say “home” and not “romantic ideal holiday” the way chocolate does.
Just sent off a box with cookies, gift card to Target, copies of Christmas photos, and an organic fancy chocolate bar. Valentines day without feeling good or bad about relationships.

Socks and nnew undies are always appreciated. My daughters loved cheap scary movie DVDs. Also magazines. Gloves. Wintery spring stuff.

How about a bottle of Chanel nail polish? They have such great colors…

I-tunes card, magazines, assortment of tea bags, a new hoodie (lots of sales right now…) or something spring-y if she eagerly awaits spring, body lotion/butter. Love the idea of a new soft towel or fuzzy slippers…Very important for college women to understand the importance of being strong women/standing on their own. Not sayin’ this applies to your DD, but all too often their self-esteem ebbs and flows based on the boyfriend or lack thereof. Seems to reinforced this time of year with all the emphasis on romance, albeit ultra-commercialized and unrealistic.

Just sent D a package with a cute polka-dotted cardigan from Target, some dark chocolate (not V-Day packaged), some medication she needs and an Ireland guide book, as she and roommates are going over their spring break.

Oh, and the quart size Baggie stuffed with travel sized shampoo, lotion, contact solution, toothpaste etc., and the remainder of my stash, 20€, from my last trip almost three years ago!
