Ideas for Weird Topics

My SAT Reasoning scores are not great, so I am applying to some lower end universities in the Ivy League…Cornell and UPenn.

UPenn asks for a long essay that -
“Describe[s] the academic programs and unique characteristics of the University of Pennsylvania that most interest you.
Why do these interests make you a good match for Penn?”

I have no idea how to start and where to get ideas…

Cornell asks for essays depending on which area you want to study…but i have no idea where I want to study!! So i might just pick the easier essay to write -

Life Sciences: “Describe how your interests and related experiences have influenced your
selection of major and how CALS will prepare you to be a leader in your chosen field.”

Sciences: “Describe your intellectual interests, their evolution, and what makes them exciting to you. Tell us how you will utilize the academic programs in the College of Arts and Sciences to further exploreyour interests, intended major, or field of study.”

Engineering: “Tell us about an engineering idea you have or your interest in engineering. Explain how Cornell Engineering can help you furtherexplore this idea or interest.”

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I just got an email from UPennn (definitely not applying, though, so no worries from me) that said YOU DEFINE WHAT’S POSSIBLE and made you take some survey.

You might want to check out the survey, or just work that into your essay: that you don’t know what you want to study, but the attitude that anything’s possible at Penn will help you succeed in whatever you choose.

wow kewl…thanks djdopeslap. still dont have ideas for cornell though…
