Am I considered an independent student if I am in a legal guardianship with my aunt and uncle?
…uh that really depends on whether you are financially independent (do you depend on your guardians for the majority of your financial support)? It sounds like the answer is probably yes.
Considered an “independent student” by whom and for what? Context makes a difference.
@doctorgirl not accurate. If someone is in a court ordered guardianship…the support they get from the guardians doesn’t matter in determining independent for financial aid status.
To @AnxiousScholar are you in a court ordered guardianship?
Is there an IDOC expert on here. We uploaded those IDOC documents months ago, early November. However, my daughter just turned in applications and of course, two schools portals say, “required documents no good or something” because the 2015 Tax Return wasn’t signed.(we filed electronically) If we upload them again, will all the schools be notified of “new” documents available and/or will they automatically go to all the schools? Or do we have to go directly to each school website specifically now and send them?
