IEEE help with grad admissions?

<p>Does being involved with professional organizations such as IEEE Hardware help with grad school admissions? or since it isn’t specifically research does it not mean anything?</p>

<p>I think it helps a little with employers, but probably not grad schools on its own. Note, however, that IEEE does provide a few more venues for publication and contacts that might be helpful in applications.</p>

<p>I guess you’re right. There really isnt much research available for freshman or sophomore students so i am doing all that i can to help my resume/future application. I hear University of Florida is very generous to their own students in terms of grad school admissions so I will probably be ok</p>
