If a student flunks out of university....

If a student flunks out of college, how likely and under what conditions will a school let them re-enter?

It depends on the school. The student needs to have a conversation with the Dean of Students (or whomever handles these things at their school) to find out what this specific school does.

If they can’t get readmitted on a probationary status the student may have to take a semester or quarter off and get admitted to the local Community College where they can work to re-establish themself and establish a decent record and gradepoint average. Following that effort, they may be able to transfer back to their original school or perhaps a different one that has a transfer relationship with the CC.
