if my daughter does not apply to be an emory scholar, when she applies to emory rd will she still be considered for any available merit scholarships?

asked in another way, are merit scholarships only given to those who apply for emory scholar status?

thanks in advance to those who care to share.

be well

dod

dod: only Emory Scholars nominees are considered for merit scholarships; and it is EXTREMELY competitive…

There are merit scholarships for debate and music that fall under the larger umbrella of Emory Scholars but that have a separate application process. Many of the departments and programs also have smaller merit scholarships (hundreds up to several thousand dollars) for which majors can apply. Obviously that’s not nearly as much money as Emory Scholars.

Emory Scholars and Goizueta Scholars are the only merit scholarships offered in advance of attending Emory. There are, however, a number of merit scholarships available to returning students including the Dean’s Achievement Scholarship. The college gives about 25-30 DAS awards to rising sophomores and juniors each year. The scholarship is $10/year for the students remaining years at Emory. The B-school also has scholarships available to returning students, but they vary in amount and there is a very limited number available (about 5 students).
