My husband did conduct Stanford alumni interviews and what really affected him was his work schedule.
He runs/ manages a large department and averages of about 60 hours a week. If he’s available, he takes an interview.
The other thing you need to consider is that even with an interview, it doesn’t guarantee that you or your classmates are “in”. It just means that your interview was supplemental to your application.
The interviewer sends in the information and then the admissions committee makes its own decisions.
