still qualify for the top schools in the nation? like harvard, stanford, and upenn? (i want to do business) if i study hard for math, biology, and english (or us history) next year, i know that i can probably do better, if not really well. (750+'s in all three). world history was definetely my week point. i know we can’t cancel sat 2 scores, but i was wondering how much it would hurt me if i did much better in the next subjects that i take. (this year i got a 700 on world history)

all opinions/comments are appreciated!

oh, extra information. have great extracurriculars, great essays (i’m working on them way ahead of time and am a pretty good writer). do you think i still have a chance? will colleges only look at 3 sat 2’s? if i have 4 sat 2’s on my transcript, 3 of which are good, how much will one bad grade (700) hurt me?

yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!!
did that answer your question? :)

of course it depends on the rest of your resume, but if it’s just one, probably not much, especially if you take others and do better.

afaik, some colleges (but not all) superscore. it depends on the college really/

what is superscoring?

and thanks :)

Yes, you can … but the rub sometimes is that you need to cancel the scores at one sitting. So if you bomb one but ace another, tougher choices.

superscoring (and this applies to other tests as well) is taking the highest scores from different tests and test dates.
just as an example:
- sophomore: Chem 660 Math 620 Lit 790
- junior (first test date): Chem 760 Math 720 History 750
- junior (second test date): Bio 800 Math 690 Lit 780
- superscore (all tests): Chem 760 Math 720 Lit 790 Bio 800 History 750
- superscore (top 3 tests): Bio 800 Lit 790 Chem 760
but colleges, even those that superscore, may have special rules about which tests count (for example, requiring math or another subject test)

hm thanks you guys!!

but my main question is that if i have 4 sat 2’s, can i choose 3 sat’s to send off to colleges? assuming i do not take world history again. (each test once only)
