If I enroll at Johns Hopkins but dont enjoy it, how hard is it to transfer back?

I was admitted to both Johns Hopkins and UC Berkeley College of Chemistry, but I havent decided where to go. Since JHU is a school which people either love or hate, there is a chance that I may be unhappy there and want to transfer to UC Berkeley in sophomore year.

What do you think? Will it be easier or harder to transfer, for someone who was previously admitted?

Thank you!

or you could just go to Berkeley in the first place. Berkeley chemistry is #1…

It’s probably easier to transfer into berkeley (private vs state school)

Also, transfers are conceived as a community college pathway, thus lots of rules about minimum and maximum units you can transfer in, aimed at keeping everyone moving through on the four-years pace and not requiring an additional year to graduate. Look over the transfer admissions information to help you decide, as you might be transferring in for the junior year, whether that means two years at JHU or an interim school.

Actual transfers might add to this if they did come in after half or one year at another uni, sharing tips and experiences.
