If I fail an IB exam, will I get rescinded?

I currently attend a high school in Asia, and am committed to a university in California. I take partial IB and have failed a class, I know this because I participated in academic malpractice. My GPA and my IB exam scores are completely independent, but my high school forces students to send them to the universities that students are committed to.

I managed to keep my high school GPA consistent with the scores that I applied with. However, I just wanted to know whether my university will rescind my application due to me receiving a 0 as an IB exam result. My university does not require incoming students to send their IB exam result, unless they want to receive credit. However, given I failed an IB class and my high school is forcing me to send my results, will my admission be in jeopardy?

P.s. My university was not notified about the academic malpractice i participated in.

Most unies use IB scores to grant credits, as long as there is a separate grade for the course. I see the only issue may be if they should inquire about the 0.

If your school should report your academic malpractice then you may an issue.

Failing a class and “academic malpractice” after you have been admitted can be an issue.

Can you explain how your high school will force you to send your IB scores to the university?

“I know this because I participated in academic malpractice”

This worries me a lot more than the fact that the exam will be recorded as failed.

Why did you feel compelled to participate in the academic malpractice? What will you do in the future if you feel tempted to repeat that behavior?

They are able to send the IB scores to my university and there is a school policy that states that the my school will send them to future university, despite my actual high school transcript being completely independent from it

Unfortunately, I do not want to get into the details of why I felt compelled to participate in the academic malpractice, but I will willingly discuss what I will do in the future if I ever feel tempted to repeat this behavior.

The initial thing I will do in the future if I feel tempted to repeat this behavior is to think about the consequences of my actions and what they can do, not only to me, but my family, friends, and other fellow classmates.

Secondly, I will evaluate whether what I want my reputation to be. I will reflect about what I want to be seen as. A respectable, trustworthy, and honorable person - or a lazy person that participates in academic malpractice. In addition to this, I will

Lastly, I will review my values and morals. I will think about my values of integrity, service, and merit and decide whether my actions follow these values.

If at anytime my behavior negatively impact any of the things I mentioned above, I will surely take more time to reconsider my choice of action.

Typically a fail can be a reason for being rescinded.
Is your HS diploma tied to your passing the IB?
In addition, academic malpractice is considered very seriously in the US and they, alone (separately from the 0/F) could Result in your being rescinded .

Hi,

No, my HS diploma is not ties to my passing of the IB.

My high school is not going to notify my university about the academic malpractice. However, when they receive the transcript instead of saying I got a zero for the exam, it is going to say “N”.

In addition, in the index of the transcript it will say that the “N” grade could be there for a variety of reasons, like I have been withdrawn from the class, failed to submit work, or academic malpractice.

Is the university a large public university that mostly considers grades 9-11 or 10-11? Or is it a private university?
Do they require a final transcript or just proof of graduation?
