<p>which dorm is the “most wanted” if i can choose? is there one that has the most spacious or the most quiet/private rooms? which complex has the biggest single rooms? which complex offers the best quality of life?</p>
<p>my lifestyle:
-i need complete silence (or almost w/ earplugs and eyepatch) to fall asleep even if i am alone. i’ve been a spoiled insomniac in a single room w/ a queen bed for my entire life.
-pretty much the same conditions apply to studying
-i sleep usually between 10-12pm
-bookworm</p>

<p>The quieter buildings are in sunset village and de neve plaza, but since you’re working through OSD you may very well be able to get a single suite. Hedrick is the furthest away from campus, but for the most part you can get anywhere near central/south campus within 25 minutes walking, I can usually get to class in 15 on my two feet.</p>
<p>if you want a double, request fir. BUT keep in mind it is the closest to the frats… so actually, don’t request fir, unless you can sleep through the sirens on the weekends.</p>
<p>sunset village is the best balance between quiet, yet not remote.</p>
<p>hedrick (summit) is basically the furthest. except for hitch. but it has a LOT of single rooms (because they’re physically smaller) which are more expensive, yet VERY isolated and quiet. you aren’t even a part of the hallway: there’s an additional door to the group of single suites, then your room door. i’m going to be in one next year because i also value peace and quiet.</p>
<p>good luck! if all else fails, and you’re in a triple, you can request a room change at the beginning of the year if your roomies are not accomodating. just make sure to set groundrules the first week, and enforce them, and hopefully you won’t have problems!</p>
<p>It’s actually quiet in the weekends. The only noisy times are various Thursday nights and Undie Run. Get the side facing Birch; it fits your needs.</p>
<p>i heard that non residents can access suite w/o card. so in the middle of the night, some buglars can come in. i heard that at leas once a yr, an intruder invades the suites. is that true? is safety at the suites something to be concerned of? i am seriously considering saxon suites…what are the pos/neg characteristics of saxon? it seems to suit my needs too.</p>

<p>i am looking at deneve plaza single rooms w/ shared bath… the brochure says"2 shared bath" and living area. idk how many kids use 2 bathrooms? describe the bathroom situation. are those other plazas just as quite as each other?</p>

<p>There was one time when a bum ended up in a floor lounge. Someone was probably dumb enough to let the door open or let him in.</p>
<p>Non residents cannot access entrance of a building without a Bruincard. Someone with a Bruincard entering must have “accidentally” let a stranger in.</p>
<p>People have common sense to know who students and parents are though.</p>

You won’t get to request the building itself, but if by chance you get Fir, it is quiet enough. It has only 3 floors, and is the farthest away from Campus among the DeNeve plaza buildings. Since you will probably be studying or reading in your room, you should be fine there.</p>

Cedar and Dogwood tend to be the more social buidlings in DeNeve, but this fact varies each year.</p>

There is at most 1 or 2, or maybe no single rooms left in DeNeve. Share bath for single means two single rooms share a bathroom in the middle (2 students use the same bathroom) . There is no 1:1 student to bathroom ratio unless you are the RA.</p>
<p>While wireless internet is indeed all over the hill, the signal quality usually sucks in your dorm. You’ll have to go to your lounge to get signal.</p>
<p>yah. i can’t get wireless in my room- it’s so intermittent as to make it unworthwhile. i just have a verrrrry long ethernet cable.
and if you’re not in a triple, you won’t be in the top bunk like me, making it very inconvenient to surf the net lying in bed

<p>There are generally no “cons” of a building. Rieber Terrace is the most sought residential building on campus. I would guess so because it is relatively new, there are certain areas which are larger than other buildings. It is also close to residential restaurants and hill-eateries.</p>
<p>The “best” residential hall is Sproul. The “best” plaza is Rieber Terrace.</p>

<p>hmm. 3.7 is on the low side for UCLA, as is your SAT. get your scores up to be in better shape.
and it’s honor roll… not role… and treasurer… not treaseurer… write killer UC essays and spell check them ;)</p>
<p>are you applying to all of those UC’s? do you want to go to all of them? cuz 7 UC’s might be a little redundant if you don’t like them all xD</p>
