Now why didn’t you study? I mean, you probably had plenty of time and it’s not that hard to study. Nobody can tell you what you can get, just study and take some practice tests, maybe even average the scores to answer your own question.

What was the point of that???

you’re potential score is, like everyone else’s, 2400. but seeing as you don’t like to study you’ll probably end up with an 1800

You’ll probably get a 1760.

i was told to take it the first time without studying to see where my weakest points were and to focus on them
obviously i will study next time
thanks anyways

Doesn’t that total to 1780?

You should have done that with a practice test. Now you just wasted some money and your own time. Now you’ll have to wait until either June if you are signed up, if not till next year. It’s just stupid.

I got 1800 without studying (albeit on a kaplan practice SAT) and scored 2360.

dream BIG. =)

Why are you guys so mean? a 1760 cold is actually beast. you can totally get 2000 + if you work hard

thank you mmmcats and knuffles. =)

I didn’t post this thread to recieve critique on my approach to the SATs. My guidance counsler at school recommended I see where my weakest points were first. i’m sorry you guys disagree so strongly.

The potential score for anybody is 2400. Potentially.

I did the exact same thing and got the exact same score. Don’t worry about those guys. It was not a waste. It was suggested to myself as well that I take the test cold the first time. However, I’m entirely certain you, as well as I, can improve with study. It isn’t a hard test to do well on with practice.

Lol that equals 1780, not 1760.
And provided you practice, your scores can and will increase. Depending on your grade and rigor of coursework, you could probably improve to a 2000-2100.

Lol woops yeah youre right.
as you can see my weakest point is math lol

My 2nd SAT score was 140 points higher than my first, and I didn’t study for either. Familiarity with the test is a big deal, so even taking it cold the first time will help your score the next time.
