if i got into schreyers...

(the honors college at penn state) what are the chances I could get into Penn? Not that they’re completely similar but schreyers is pretty competitive and i was surprised to get in, so now i’m wondering about Penn

Don’t do this to yourself! It’s almost April 1, it’s out of your hands now. You did your best and I’m sure that you have just as much of a chance as all of the other qualified applicants. Go do something fun, it will help relieve your stress. It’s totally normal for people to be nervous before decisions (I sure was!), but you have to believe in yourself. Even if you don’t get into Penn, you will end up at a great place.

I got into Penn but not to Schreyer’s… that said, if I had to choose between the two, I would have gone to Schreyer’s. It’d save money and give a larger professional network (hundreds of thousands of PSU alumni!). Plus the football team is legit. haha

Save money, yes. Larger professional network, yes, but no because alumni networks are not simply a function of size, but power. While there are always exceptions, the AVERAGE Penn alum will be in a better position than the AVERAGE PSU alum.

Wow. Well Maybe the average Penn Alum will be in a better position but averages don’t matter. It’s just the number of Penn Alum vs the number of PSU Alum in said position. Even if the the percent of Penn Alum in a good position is higher than the percent of PSU alum, there are so many PSU Alum that that smaller percentage may actually be a similar number of alum in reality.
