If I reclass does my grade from the 1st freshmen year go to college admissions?

I am basically asking what the title says. If I reclass does my grades from the first freshmen year get sent to college admissions when I apply to college?

Yes. All years of HS whether that is 4 or 5 years get sent.

That’s the definitive answer

pardon my ignorance, but what is “reclass” mean?

Repeat a year, so a 9th grade student applying for 9th grade entry.

Will it matter a huge ton, like if I have mid-bad grades this freshmen year but I have straight As for the rest of high school will it be over for top schools. (Bad grades as in straight B±As and 1 D)

B+s and A-s are not bad grades. Ds can be red flags.

It is unlikely to make a big difference. AOs understand that kids reclass for a number of reasons. Sometimes it’s to master English. Sometimes it’s because of a health reason. Or to be better prepared for a competitive high school (or sports.)

And they recognize that it was 4 years ago. No point worrying about it.

what was the D in?

If the D is in a core class can you remediate that this summer?

I think they will saw the growth of ur grade but is it anyway to takeout the d

The main reason for the D was that I had a F in one of the quarters due to health.

Math sadly :smiling_face_with_tear:

I’m just worried because I feel like it might hurt me since I love math and math is the main thing I do. I made USAJMO’s this year but I still have a D in math which I feel like might hurt me in the future even though it was for health reasons.

You should have your HS counselor explain the reasons for the D grade in their LoR…have you talked with them about that? Did the health issues impact your other grades?

What year are you in HS right now? The D was in freshman year? What math class? (could be an issue at some schools if it was geometry, for example.) I’ll ask again…can you remediate that D? That’s what you should have done the summer (or the following year) after you received that grade, and it may not be too late to do that now.

I’m currently a freshmen and I’m going into freshmen year again next year at my private high (I currently attend a LPS).

The health issue only affected math since all my other teachers understood and gave me extra time for tests/assignments but my math teacher gave me 1 extra day to finish all the missed tests and everything even though I never learnt it which took a toll on my grade.

How can I remediate that D? Summer school?

You need to speak with your counselor to see what options you have. Summer school, online course, next year…all could work. What was the class?

It was Geometry :sob: I was never good at it in the first place, I’m taking calc next year based off my placement test

I would encourage you to remediate that, so see you counselor ASAP. For example, at some colleges like the UCs you need one year of geometry with a passing grades. Good luck.

How would that work if I transfer schools? Should I talk to my current counselor at my LPS or go talk to my counselor at my private high when I get assigned one when I start there in august?
