If I retook MCAT after submitting my application, would I have to tell AMCAS or TMDAS

If I apply to medical schools with my current mcat scores, and I decide to retake the test, would I have to let schools know my new score? For AMCAS schools? For TMDAS schools?

Lets say I get 1/2 points around my new score and I don’t feel like updating schools, is that fine?

I know that I have the choice of releasing my scores to TMDAS. If I chose not to release my new scores is that okay?

Sorry I should have rephrased my question.

Once I am complete at Texas medical schools, and I choose to retake the MCAT, would I have to update TMDAS with my new score. Remember I am already complete and I have the choice of releasing my mcat scores to TMDAS.

There is a place on the AMCAS application to mark if you plan to take the MCAT at a future date. If you don’t mark it, then there is a chance that a decision will be made on your application without your new scores. If you do mark it, then med schools will expect to see that score and you won’t be able to hide it.

^ I know that AMCAS schools are automatically updated for the MCAT. I was just wondering for TMDAS schools. If I decide to retake, and I score lower, and if I am required to let TMDAS know of my 3rd lower score, then of course I will let them know. However, my parents were saying that if I decide to retake it, my score is lower, and if TMDAS doesn’t ask for my third score, then why should I release it to them?

I guess I can call TMDAS about this. I tried emailing TMDAS staff but I haven’t gotten a response.

I don’t want to break any rules, because then if I do get accepted, it could mean them taking away my acceptance. So I am just trying to figure out the rules.

BTW I called UTSW, and UT-Houston. Both schools said that they look at the highest mcat more. I know they can see both scores, but right now I am just hoping UT-Houston takes me. NCG, I sent you a pm clarifying my extracurricular activities. Since I am on a team led by a very highly ranked person, and I am going to get published with my high profile team in a high impact medical journal, do you think I have a shot at UT-Houston?

I guess I should just give up on UTSW.
