If I score low on my commubitynxollege assesment test will it take me longer to transfer?

I’m only in college algebra. beginning college ready and writing. I’m a business administration major. Will it take me longer than two years to transfer if I take summer classes?

It may. Generally you will need at least 60-62 credits to earn an associate’s which will allow you to transfer as a junior. If you have had to take remedial/non-credit courses, then yes, it will take more than two years. Summer classes can reduce that time, but it depends on what classes YOU specifically need to take. Talk with an advisor at your college; he or she should be able to map out exactly what you need to do to graduate and how long it will take.

You should know that most Community College students take more than two years to complete their degrees for a variety of reasons. There is no harm in taking a little longer. You can also try to transfer before you complete your associate’s depending on what four-year school you wish to attend. You would probably not have “junior standing” if you did that though, so you would spend more time at the four-year school, which would likely be more expensive if that is an issue for you.
