<p>The problem is, in my UC app additional statements box I wrote that I’d keep up piano and be a member of the piano guild, which has auditions in June. I realize now that I really cannot keep up the lessons with my teacher, but fully plan to keep playing piano for the rest of the year. Is not doing the guild auditions really grounds for a deny/revoke? How will the colleges know that I didn’t become a member - do they have access to lists? I think that maybe I am overdoing it and being paranoid. I have wonderful grades and am keeping up all my other activities and doing CM for piano.

<p>a piano guild, while great in the grand scheme of things, eh…so just keep up the grades, that is what they are concerned with, seniors almost always start doing fewer ECs…which is good for JRs. by the way, you aren’t alone and UCs wont’ care</p>
<p>they dont’ hunt down your ECs, can you IMAGINE doing that? what if you tried out and didn’t make it? means nada</p>
<p>You only need to update them if there is something changes with your academic schedule. My daughter adds more EC/involvement and I called and they said not to bother updating. There is no need to update, more EC/less EC. They do verify your activities, ie to make sure you actually do them, but the verification is not that extensive.</p>

if your a senior, you have already sent your applications (which i hope you have!) theres no way they can tell…
if your a junior, one less year in a EC wont make a difference (espeically if you have been commited to it for many years… 10 vs. 11… who cares?)</p>
<p>haha thanks for the reassuring advice. yes i am a senior, and i’ve submitted my application. they can verify and confirm my membership for the past three years, and my decision to not do it this year should not be so striking. lol i guess i am just being overly paranoid.</p>
