If I take the ACT and cancel my results, do I still have to submit the score to Yale University?

If I take the ACT in December and then cancel my result (so I would simply be taking the ACT for practice under test conditions), would I still have to submit this test result on my Yale application?

I know that Yale wants you to send in every result you get in standardised tests… Does that include cancelled results? I would take the ACT for real in June.

Yale does not want you to send in every result you get in standardized tests, but if you’re sending in an ACT result, they would want you to send in every ACT result.

As per the ACT, “The deadline for adding, changing, or canceling college and high school reports is the Thursday noon (central time) immediately after the regularly scheduled Saturday test date.” However, keep this in mind: You will not be able to see your scores before you cancel sending them, and the score is still a part of your ACT score record. Canceling the score reports doesn’t delete the score from your record.

Since the score isn’t really canceled, in my view you would need to report it.

It sounds like you really really don’t want to send one or more SAT II score. I get that - I had to send one score I really didn’t want to send also.
My Dad explained it to me this way: (if you’re lucky) you’re about to embark on a four year relationship with this college. You need to have as much integrity on your end as you expect Yale to have in their dealings with you. If the college started lying to you about their admissions policies, not being transparent or otherwise betraying your trust, you’d be outraged and it would change everything about your experience. Violating an expectation or a score reporting policy, even if you think you can get away with it, is bound to backfire. Sending your less impressive scores, if they are required, will show Yale you have confidence in the process and personal integrity – and that will count for a lot. That’s how I’m looking at it anyway.

If you want a practice ACT, I’m sure you can simulate test conditions well enough for your purposes.
