<p>I’m assuming you’re a transfer… the answer is no, but there is a loophole… register for everything as if you were planning to come for Winter, then drop during the first week. My friend did this (only he had a legitimate reason). If you’re gone more than one quarter, you will have to reapply as a returning student (so much easier than a new student, but reapplying nonetheless), and explain in a statement what happened and why you’re back.</p>
