If interviews are non-evaluative, then why does the interviewer write a report to the admissions committee about the interviewee? What is the purpose of the report?

My interviewer told me (although my memory is a little bit shady because this was about a month ago) that he does a general write-up of me, but not to worry because it doesn’t have much wait in the admission decision.

The interview report is written not as an evaluation but rather as a summary of the conversation. Specifically, the interviewer records a summary of your answers to specific questions, what questions you may have asked, and any other important details about the conversation.

These reports are used to provide context to the application, and are in all cases a very minor part of the application review. The only time the report is important is if the interviewee reveals important details in the interview that they want included in their application.

Since all applicants can not interview, interviews remain non-evaluative.
