If money was no object, what would you splurge on?

TRavel around the world with H. Find and buy 2 retirement homes/cottages–one in US and one abroad. Pick them based on their fabulous views. Oh, and get H to retire.

Pay of student loans of both kids.

I love this thread.

I forgot to add: after not being able to afford more than a one-bedroom apartment for the last 11 years, I would want a 3-bedroom apartment. Still in the same neighborhood (which I really like), and still with a river view. With one room for my son (for whenever he wants to stay with me), and one to use as a library (with built-in shelves, of course), so I finally have space for all my books. With comfortable chairs by the window, so people can read and look at the river at the same time.

An apartment in Spain for 3 months, one in Italy for 3 months, one in Greece for 3 months, one in Argentina for 3 months, a year on ResidenSea “The World” ship. Repeat (with different locations) as many times as possible. First class tickets for anyone who will come visit us.

Would love a house in Napa…

I disagree the happiest person is the one who understand the limitation and set reasonable goals. (S)he be happy while working towards the goals and the satisfaction of completing these goals will be unparallel.

Everyone defines their own happiness. There is no right or wrong, agree/disagree to such concepts, IMO.

^^^: Then what do you define happiness as? If there is no standard definition of happiness then the question is futile to begin with.

Maybe we will be neighbors, jym? ;)

Happiness is being BB’s neighbor, and not taking this thread down that same slippery slope that so many others have taken in recent days :)

Oh, and happiness is less noise on the forum right now. Hope it isn’t the calm before the storm :)

a pool of jellybeans, a castle, really nice cologne, dior men’s clothes, the lakers, [once i’m 21] variety of rare/expensive/interesting ingredients for my mixology/bartending hobby, a friendly’s franchise, a lot of cool disney art/merchandise

Cool, jym, I’m in. Now all we have to do is to find 2 houses in Napa and convince our Hs that it would be a wise investment.

A really nice leather jacket
and some vintage Beatles shirts

While we’re at it, can we convince them to buy a winery? That would be fun.

And I always want a trip to Greece. The first two objects weren’t too expensive so I think I can have all three.

There are couple of very good deals overlooking lake Beryessa in the Napa County, if that fancy your lifestyle.

S/he’s only a sophomore but I think “Imasophomore” nailed the definition of happiness:

AND…a pool full of jellybeans is a much better investment than a vineyard in Napa.

If you have the vineyard in Napa, it’s not that far to drive to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield.

I’d hire a few helicopters so that when news helicopters hover over our house in the early morning while giving traffic reports we can note what networks they represent, and then send our helicopters to hover over the houses at some ungodly hour of the general managers and news directors of those stations.

I’d establish a contest with significant payoff for someone to invent an outdoor Roomba that detects and disposes of dog poop.

I would replace all of the pews at our synagogue with Barca Loungers.

I would buy every single book that in the slightest bit piques my interest. Also, I would make a large enough donation to the local library branch so that it would be open 24/7, and also make myself permanently exempt from late fines.

DING DING DING…we have a winner
^

Would order a la carte instead of the extra value meal at mcdonalds
