I got into CAS, but now I think I want to do accounting, which is in the business school.
If I get really really good grades freshman year, but my senior hs grades are bad (right now, I’m in 4th quarter and may end up with a D in AP Calc or AP Chem), would that hold me back greatly?

And also, I got a CAS scholarship. If I do get into Stern, would they decrease my finaid package? Anyone have experience with this?

I don’t think anyone here can really say for sure, but a D is pretty bad…senioritis much?

You can obviously try to make up for this by getting very good grades in your first year at CAS, which will likely cause them to look past your HS Senior grades, but it’s definitely not a nice thing to have on your transcript. Isn’t there still time left in the 4th quarter to improve your grade?

It’s not really senioritis; the grades have been pretty bad since the beginning of the school year.
However, now my overall gpa will be brought down significantly from a 3.7 to ~3.4/3.3

People act like the freshman classes at NYU aren’t very hard, so I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to prove that I’m working harder by sticking out.
