If our EFC is 40k, am I screwed?

<p>My EFC is 40k (hahahahahaha) so does that mean we’re pretty much out of luck? No aid?? Or is there any hope at all??</p>

<p>I don’t even understand why it’s so much…I mean if my parents pay that much each year, minus a part time job for me…

<p>the Cost for school problem is just a problem. Hopefully by now, unless GW’s Texas ed policies failed, you can begin to solve this problem. In whatever college you eventually attend, You will get more problems that you need to solve with the resulting answers to be less than exact. </p>

<p>Hint: The solution to your problem is everywhere on this board. You don’t even need to open a thread. It is the same solution that has gotten the US economy where it is today. </p>

<p>Your EFC is 40k because that is what the methodology determined that your parents are able to pay. You should look at the criteria determined, there is a link somewhere in this forum on FA, it will tell you what they look at. From there you can figure out why. </p>

<p>I can’t really answer why college is so expensive. Sorry.</p>
