If someone gets accepted ED...

Will they still take up spots in the other schools the applied RD to (assuming that they get accepted)? Or will the ED school notify the other schools and tell them that the kid was accepted ED? For those who don’t get what I’m saying… lets say someone applies Cornell ED, NYU RD, and Penn State RD

The person gets into Cornell ED. Will Cornell notify NYU and Penn State that the person got accepted ED, and will the person’s spots in NYU and Penn State be open to another applicant again?

The ED college will not notify other colleges of the decision.
The student has a contractual obligation under the ED agreement to notify the other colleges and withdraw all other applications. This all happens in December, long before the RD list is finalized.

Check with your guidance counselor – some HS have a policy where the GC will notify other schools.

Have you actually read the ED agreement? You’re required to withdraw all outstanding applications if accepted ED at Cornell. NYU and Penn should not even read your file…

No I didn’t, because I’m not even applying ED anywhere. I just asked this question out of curiosity…
