If the admissions person remembers me....

I had to call my son’s top pick college to get the mailing address for the transcripts. In the conversation, it came out that she remembers me, my parents, and even the people who are my one child’s God parents! She was so sweet and friendly.

She also commented that a son as interested as my son should not have much trouble getting in. What do you think?

Wow. I cannot imagine an admissions person saying that if it were not a definite positive sign!

Unless, of course, it is a school that reads by committee or randomly (i.e. she has no say in who decides on your son’s application)…

I am figuring it is no guarantee or anything, but it sure gives one warm fuzzies about a place when they remember your family, your little sister, and so on. Makes me feel better about things.

How does she know your parents and your child’s Godparents? I don’t know any way that the admissions officer of any school my daughter is applying to would also know my parents.

It’s a very very small town, I grew up there.

The admissions counselor at one of DD’s schools was her coach for a basketball camp several years ago :D. She remembers our DD.

Imkh70, that’s so cool! Very impressive that she remembered your parents as well. I’d say it’s a very good sign. Keep us posted.
