Yeah…it kinda scares me

I think average income for my town is about $200,000. Ridiculous.
Edit: I looked it up: $149,857. I overshot a little.

I’m not so much worried as being more successful than the rest of my family members, as I’m worried about not living up to their expectations. Especially now that I’m going to a “top” university, I feel that they have unreasonable expectations of me being awfully rich. If I major in something impractical or pursue a career in teaching or social work, for example, they’ll be disappointed as hell because I went to an ivy and ended up making less than they did.

This is probably one of the main reasons why I’m more likely to go Pre-Med.

**** both of my parents attended top Ivy League schools.

I’m a failure in anyone’s eyes haha

My parents make a good amount of money yah, but whatever.

I kinda just wanna be like Raskolnikov and live in Russian slums and be all sickly. Obviously the optimal state for angrily critiquing society.

my parents would NEVER tell me how much they make…

My brother went to UCLA and is at Brown right now.

I’m a little above average. But it’s awesome that my parents understand (even though they used to say stuff like: “Why aren’t you like your brother?!?”)

I’m upper-middle class too and I’m smh @ the nerds in this thread.

Do anyone’s parents tell them? Mine definitely don’t. I look at their tax statements.

Heh, mine do now that we’re starting to talk about Financial Aid stuff.

I dont have any chance of reaching my dad’s success. For what I want to do, the max. annual salary is ~1,000,000 but more realistically, I’d be lucky to makes $500,000.

The only reason I know about my parents’ income is from discussing taxes and tax breaks and financial aid. They’d never tell me directly.

…so your father is a banker?

No, he’s the CEO of a telecom company.

my village

closest city (where most of the students at my school come from

My FAFSA reported 2 parent income was $49,888

oh but and where it says we have .73% hispanics i hve to lol. legal maybe…we have like 200 hispanics here in the trailer park alone.

EFC=0

But I still feel like I have to live up to my parents as they both have doctorates.

uhh: Estimated median household income in 2007: $28,512 (it was $25,928 in 2000)…whoof someone let me live with them
